knowledge of the past, present and future of the Sqelixw and Ksanka thanks
to the concerted effort the Tribe has invested in the preservation of the
oral histories through such establishments as the Salish Culture Committee,
the Kootenai Culture Committee, the Cultural Preservation Department, and
the People's Center. Our government has carefully managed the earth
resources on the reservation with much care, professionalism and foresight.
The family and social values are still celebrated as the people continue to
care for each other with emphasis on the elders and youth who are cherished
as we have so much respect for the history and future of our people.
